Thank God I couldn't find your house.
I kept looking and looking and looking.
I knew I was going a little too west.
The lights were just coming on, what if I met you around the bend?
Or what if you'd gone off, with some other friend,
and I didn't see you?

Well, I won't stop holding my breath and I won't stop my crying.
And who's to say that anything bad would have happened?
But it's nice to know, that if I feel like trying,
I can keep things calm in my little world.

Thank God I couldn't find your heart.
I kept kissing and kissing and missing.
I was only off by only one inch.
And I think in this story, that inch makes all of the difference.
In some ways this is sad, some ways it isn't.
I'm still looking for you.
